Caption

Secondary cancers of the liver. Clinical specimen of a liver showing secondary cancers (metastases, white) that have spread from a primary cancer elsewhere in the body. This cancer spread from a stomach cancer. The liver is the largest gland in the body. Its many vital roles include metabolising nutrients and detoxifying the blood. The prognosis for secondary liver cancer is poor.
