Red spider lily (Lycoris radiata) pollen, coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM). Pollen grains are the male sex cells of a flowering plant. An adhesive thread secreted by the anther, part of the male reproductive structure of the plant, is tangled amongst the pollen grains.
