Breast cancer. Set of coloured magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans of a 58-year-old woman's right breast (left-hand side of each image) and thorax. The images show a malignant adenocarcinoma, a type of cancer, which appears as a yellow area in the breast. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. It can be treated by excision of the tumour if it is caught early. Radiotherapy and chemotherapy are often used as well as surgery to prevent the tumour from regrowing.
