Rectal inflammation. Endoscope view of the inflamed mucosa (lining) of the rectum, the end of the large intestine. This has been caused by recurring prolapse of the rectum, when muscles supporting the rectum are weakened causing the rectal wall to collapse and protrude through the anus.
