Coloured scanning electron micrograph of teratocarcinoma cells grown in culture. These are malignant (cancerous) cells that have arisen from human male germ (sex) cells. Malignant cells divide rapidly and uncontrollaby and are able to invade and destroy surrounding tissues. Magnification: x180 when printed at 10 centimetres wide.
