Black-eared kite (Milvus lineatus) in flight. Closely related to the black kite (Milvus migrans) the black-eared kite is found across Asia. It feeds on small mammals, reptiles, birds, and sometimes fish. Much of its diet is made up of carrion. Kites scavenge near human settlements and rubbish tips. Photographed on Hokkaido, Japan.
