Radiotherapy machine. This is a linear accelerator (linac). It is able to emit different types and strengths of radiation fo the treatment of cancerous tumours. This machine is used to calibrate the instruments that hospitals use to measure doses prior to treatment. Photographed at the National Physical Laboratory, Teddington, UK.
