Europa space probe lander. Artwork of a potential design for a space probe to be landed on Europa, one of the largest of the moons of Jupiter. This design is from NASA, part of the Europa Study Team report produced in 2012. The instruments that would be carried on such a lander include a mass spectrometer, a Raman spectrometer, a magnetometer, a multiband seismometer package, a site imaging system, a microscopic imager, and a reconnaissance imager. The lander would study the surface chemistry, the nature of Europa's ice and ocean, its geology, and any indications of the presence of life.
