Rainbow stag beetle (Phalacrognathus muelleri). This beetle is native to northern Queensland, Australia. The colourful, metallic-looking, exoskeleton changes colour depending on viewing angle. This is a structural optical effect known as iridescence. Males are larger than females and grow large mandibles which it uses to fight other males.
