Ascent of Mont Blanc. Mont Blanc. They are in an area called La Jonction, the meeting point of the Bossons Glacier and the Taconnaz Glacier. Mont Blanc, on the France-Italy border, is the highest mountain in the Alps, reaching an elevation of 4810 metres. The first recorded ascent to the summit was in 1786.
