Sebaceous cyst on the face of a male patient. This type of cyst is caused by a blockage of a duct of a sebaceous gland in the skin. The gland continues to produce the wax-like sebum, and becomes enlarged. Such cysts grow slowly. They can sometimes become infected. Treatment in extreme cases is by surgical removal.
