Porphobilinogen deaminase enzyme molecule (PBGD), ribbon computer model. This is a key enzyme that is involved in the body's synthesis of compounds such as haems (vital blood components) and vitamin B12. In plants, this enzyme is involved in chlorophyll synthesis. It is a large molecule that consists of around 313 linked amino acids.
