Breast tumour and cancer, artwork. At upper left (pink) is a fibroadenoma, the most benign mammary tumour in young adult women. At lower centre (white) is an infiltrating carcinoma (cancer) of the breast. This is the most common cancer in women. Treatment is with a combination of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The other structures visible here are fat cells (yellow) and mammary gland cells (purple) with lactiferous ducts (blue) bringing milk to the papilla (nipple).
