Caption

Eurasian nuthatch (Sitta europaea). This is the only bird to walk down a tree head-first, as shown here. It is found in mature woodland, parks and gardens throughout Europe and Asia, where it feeds on insects, nuts and fruits, using its powerful beak to break open large nuts. Photographed in the UK in November.
