Nakhla meteorite fragment. The Nakhla meteorite fell as a shower of stones in Egypt in 1911. It belongs to the SNC (Sherogtty, Nakhla and Chassigny) group of meteorites, which are stony meteorites from Mars. This was the first metoerite to show evidence that water was once present on Mars. This fragment weighs 4.1 grams.
