Galena (lead sulphide). This mineral usually occurs as compacted masses of cubic grey crystals, although some possess a rarer octahedral form. It is a common mineral found in various types of rocks. It is the most important lead ore and often contain deposits of silver. Specimen from Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia.
