Caption

Urea-methanal polymerisation. Methanal solution is added to a beaker containing urea (white) and stirred. Drops of sulphuric acid are added to the beaker and the solution turns opaque before a hard white solid is formed. This is condensation polymerisation reaction in which water is eliminated as urea and methanal molecules combine.
