Perforated colon cancer. Section of colon (large intestine) affected by an adenocarcinoma (cancer) that has perforated (split, hole, centre right). Adenocarcinomas are the most common form of colorectal cancer. A rupture causes the contents of the colon to spill into the abdominal cavity causing infection.
