Louisiana wetlands restoration project. Dredging vessel on the Mississippi River being used to pump sediment several kilometres to restore an eroded coastal marsh wetland area in Louisiana, USA. The sediment is for the Lake Hermitage Marsh Creation project. Coastal wetlands are important buffers against storm damage in New Orleans and other cities to the north. Photographed in November 2012.
