Memorial to 11 September 2001. One of the two pools forming the National September 11 Memorial, New York City, New York, USA. This memorial, commemorating the 11 September 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center (WTC) and other locations, was constructed where the WTC towers had stood. The memorial and museum was designed by Israeli-US architect Michael Arad. The names of the 2983 dead are inscribed on 76 bronze plaques on the parapet walls. Each pool is 4000 square metres and has waterfalls cascading down the sides. The memorial was dedicated in 2011, on the tenth anniversary of the attacks. Photographed in July 2012.
