Close-up timelapse footage of lead metal growing after being displaced from a solution of lead nitrate. A small chip of zinc metal was added to the solution, which displaced the lead and bonded to the nitrate ions. The solid lead then precipitated from solution, growing to form delicate crystals. Speeded up 20 times.
