This virus consists of a protein capsid enclosing an RNA (ribonucleic acid) genetic code (genome). The rhinovirus infects the upper respiratory tract and is the cause of the common cold. It is spread by coughs and sneezes. The cellular receptors are shown as violet proteins studding the surface of the virus.
