Fibroepithelial polyp. Close-up of a fibroepithelial polyp containing a benign (non-cancerous) neurofibroma on the skin of a 70-year-old male patient. Neurofibromas are benign tumours of the peripheral nervous system that arise from the myelin that makes up nerve sheaths. Fibroepithelial polyps are benign tumours that tend to form in skin creases, such as the neck, armpit and groin.
