Caption

Pityriasis rosea. Close-up of a rash on the torso of an 18-year-old male patient with pityriasis rosea. This is a benign (non-cancerous) skin rash that can cause substantial discomfort and itching. The cause is not certain but it is thought to be of viral origin. Treatment is typically with oral antihistamines or topical steroids to decrease the itching.
