Meyerson's nevus. Close-up of a Meyerson's nevus on the back of a 42-year-old male patient. A nevus is a harmless overgrowth of dark pigmented skin cells (melanocytes). They are mostly benign (non-cancerous), but can sometime become malignant (cancerous). Meyerson's nevus is a nevus surrounded by an eczematous (eczema-like) skin lesion.
