Acute haemorrhagic oedema. Lesions on the skin of a one-month-old child with acute haemorrhagic oedema. Oedema is swelling caused by fluid accumulating in body tissues. This swelling can cause bleeding (haemorrhage) if it becomes severe, as in this case.
