Soapbox derby. Local residents of an old mining town taking part in a soapbox derby race to celebrate Independence Day (4th July). Soapboxes, or gravity racers, are motorless vehicles raced downhill using only gravity to propel them forwards. Photographed in Chloride, Arizona, USA, on 4th July 2006.
