Habitat for Humanity house building. Volunteers building a block of houses on Williams Street, Detroit, Michigan, USA, as part of the Habitat for Humanity organisation's Blitz build program 2003. These volunteers transformed an entire city block on the west side of Detroit, with the week-long project building nearly 20 new homes on Williams Street. Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit Christian organisation that aims to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness around the world through volunteer labour and donations of money and materials. Photographed in September 2003.
