Acacia abyssinica is one of the highland acacia trees, commonly called umbrella thorns. It makes a fine shade and ornamental tree. The tree does not adversely affect crops and being a nitrogen fixer it is thought to improve the surrounding soil. Photographed in the rural area near Debarq (Debark), Ethiopia.
