Rhabdomyosarcoma. Light micrograph of a section through a rhabdomyosarcoma in striated muscle tissue. Rhabdomyosarcomas are malignant (cancerous) tumours arising from skeletal muscle progenitor cells. They mostly occur in areas naturally lacking in skeletal muscle, such as the head, neck, and genitourinary tract.
