Nasopharynx. Endoscope view of the nasopharynx, looking towards the back of the nasal cavity. The nasopharynx is the part of the pharynx (a muscular tube that extends from the oesophagus or gullet to the base of the skull) that lies above the soft palate. It is connected to the nasal cavity of the nose by the two funnel-shaped openings (choanae) seen here (lower left and right).
