This rocket-powered vertical-landing craft is controlled with GENIE (Guidance Embedded Navigator Integration Environment) technology from Draper Laboratory. This 80-second flight reached a height of nearly 500 metres, landing nearly 300 metres away. The intention is to use flight systems like this for explorations of Mars, the Moon and other astronomical bodies. It is part of NASA's Flight Opportunities Program.
