Robert Mundell (born 1932), Nobel Prize-winning Canadian economist. Mundell is known as the 'father' of the euro, the official currency of the Eurozone. He received the 1999 Nobel Memorial prize in Economics for his pioneering work in monetary dynamics and optimum currency areas. He is also known for the Mundell-Fleming model and Mundell-Tobin effect.
