Spinal tumour. X-ray of the spine of a patient with an ependymoma. Ependymomas are tumours that arise from the ependyma - lining tissue of the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord). Most (about 85 percent) are benign (non-cancerous) but some do become malignant (cancerous).
