Carotid body tumour blood supply, X-ray. Angiogram of the neck of a patient with a tumour of the carotid body, showing the blood vessels (white lines) that are supplying the tumour. Carotid body tumours are highly vascular glomus tumours that arise from the paraganglinon cells of the carotid body - a small cluster of chemoreceptors and supporting cells located near the fork (bifurcation) of the carotid artery.
