Ureter. Light micrograph( LM) of a section through an entire ureter. The ureter is the tube that carries urine from the kidney to the urinary bladder. A fibroelastic, lamina propria lies underneath the transitional epithelium (red).The tube has thick muscular wall (orange) which is able to contract and squeeze urine into the bladder by peristalsis. Magnification: X 30 when printed at 10cm.
