Hydroponic tomato culture. Organic tomatoes growing hydroponically in Dutch buckets at a hospital farm. Hydroponics is the cultivation of plants without soil. Instead, the roots of the plant are immersed in troughs or buckets through which nutrient-rich water trickles.
