Space Shuttle engine testing. View of a Space Shuttle Main Engine (SSME) during a test firing. This is a liquid-fuel cryogenic rocket engine. It was used on NASA's Space Shuttle and is planned to be used on its successor, the Space Launch System (SLS). Photographed at the John C. Stennis Space Center (SSC), Hancock County, Mississippi, USA, on 1st January 1981.
