Algal strands and cells. Light microscopy footage of the braided patterns formed in transparent strands of algae cells by the chloroplasts. The chloroplasts, with the green pigment chloropyll, are where photosynthesis takes place. This specimen is from the Kaw Marsh, French Guiana.
