Psoriatic arthritis of the hand. X-ray of one of the hands of a woman with psoriatic arthritis and erosive osteoarthritis. The X-ray shows 'pencil-in-cup' deformities, a characteristic of psoriatic arthritis. This is where erosion causes the tip of a bone to become pointed (the 'pencil'), and the neighbouring surface becomes rounded (the 'cup').
