Dead dolphin. Carcass of a half eaten short-beaked common dolphin (Delphinus delphis) floating on the surface of the sea. Short-beaked common dolphins are found throughout the world in temperate and warm seas. They usually live in groups (or pods) of up to 100 individuals, but much larger groups are known to exist. They feed almost exclusively on fish, and may live for over 30 years. Photographed in the Gulf of California, Mexico.
