Limestone and acid. Piece of limestone with a pipette and a bottle of hydrochloric acid. Limestone is a form of calcium carbonate rock. It reacts with acid to produce hydrogen. This apparatus is used to place small amounts on the limestone in order to demonstrate this reaction.
