Telemicrophonograph. Historical illustration of the telemicrophonograph, a 1908 invention of French instrument maker Eugene Ducretet (1844-1915). This device combined a phonograph and a telephone to transmit recorded sounds over a telephone network. Artwork from 'Electricite' (1911) by Max de Nansouty, part of the 'Les merveilles de la science' series of 1867-1891 by Louis Figuier.
