Acyclovir. Molecular model of the antiviral drug acyclovir (C8.H11.N5.O3). This is one of the most commonly used antiviral drugs, used for diseases such as herpes. It works by inhibiting the production of viral DNA, which prevents the virus from reproducing. Atoms are represented as spheres and are colour-coded: carbon (grey), hydrogen (white), nitrogen (blue) and oxygen (red).
