Bean broomrape on broad bean crop. Bean broomrape (Orobanche crenata, tall) growing on broad bean (Vicia faba) plants in a field. Bean broomrape is a parasite of the broad bean. It gets its carbohydrates, water and minerals the host plants, depriving and ultimately killing them. Photographed on Chios, Greek Islands.
