Skin laser therapy. Close-up of a laser therapist using an integrated laser system to carry out cosmetic skin therapy on a patient's face. The patient is wearing eye covers to protect her eyes from the laser. Cosmetic laser systems are designed to treat skin disorders and carry out procedures such as hair removal and tattoo removal. Skin disorders treated include acne, wrinkles (skin rejuvenation), pigmented lesions, and vascular lesions. Pulses of laser light are used to destroy or reshape the skin. This is the Ultra system from Energist Medical Group, using Variable Pulsed Light (VPL) technology.
