Investigating Lenz's Law. Lenz's law states that a magnet falling down a copper tube will slow down. Here, two weights, one magnetic and one non-magnetic are dropped simultaneously down two identical copper tubes. The magnetic weight takes far longer to travel down tube, due to an induced magnetic current in the tube that generates a magnetic field opposing that of the weight, so slowing it down.
