Light refraction in a glass block. Demonstration showing how light entering the curved side of a semi-circular glass block is bent away (refracted) from the normal (perpendicular to the surface). This occurs as the frequency of the wave remains unchanged, whilst its phase velocity is slowed down on entering the more dense glass block.
