Mount Etna earthquake damage. Crowd outside a house in Linera, Sicily, Italy, destroyed by a violent earthquake that took place on 8 May 1914. This earthquake killed 120 people and damaged hundreds of buildings. Mount Etna occupies the eastern part of the Italian island of Sicily. This photograph is from the Bain News Service, one of the USA's earliest news picture libraries.
