Light microscopy of the testis. Seminiferous tubules are shown in section. Clusters of Leydig cells occur between the tubules in the vascularised connective tissue that supports the tubules. Leydig cells secrete testosterone which stimulates spermatogenesis and the functions of numerous androgen-dependent organs. Magnification x580 when printed at 10 cm high.
